Step 2: Design & Customisation — Turning Vision into Design

Once we understand your vision, you can share your design inspiration — photos, sketches, or room layouts — via our Custom Made Rugs page.

From there, our designers collaborate with you to define every detail:

  • Exact size and shape for your space
  • Preferred construction method (hand-knotted, loomed, or flatweave)
  • Material selection (NZ wool, silk, jute, or blends)
  • Pile height, density & weight
  • Colour matching and pattern refinement

You’ll receive precise CAD renderings showing how your rug will look before weaving begins — ensuring total clarity before production.

Step 3: Confirm Design & Begin Production

Once your design and materials are approved, we move to production. Our artisans use the agreed-upon techniques and natural fibres to hand-weave your rug with care and precision. Throughout the process, you’ll receive regular updates — from loom setup to final finishing — ensuring transparency and peace of mind.

Step 4: Ethical Craftsmanship & Sustainability

Every Artisan Weave Co rug is crafted with ethically sourced materials, sustainable dyeing, and fair-trade weaving practices. We’re committed to preserving traditional techniques while promoting responsible luxury — creating rugs that feel as good to live with as they do to look at.

Step 5: Delivery & Setup

When your rug is complete, it’s carefully packaged and shipped worldwide. We offer express airfreight via DHL for clients who need faster delivery — with most orders arriving within 8 weeks from confirmation. Each rug is delivered ready to unroll, instantly transforming your space.
